Policy | Activities | Finding an Activity That Is Not in the List

Modular Solutions  |  Policy Module  |  Client Resource

Purpose

Explain why an activity can be missing from the Activities list and where to find it instead.

Overview

The Activities list is filtered on two things at once: who the activity is assigned to, and which part of the platform it belongs to. An activity that does not match both is not missing, it is outside the current filter.

The customer file carries its own Activities tab, which is not filtered by either of those, so it is the reliable place to look for everything held against one customer.

Expected Behaviour

  • The Activities list is filtered by Code, Pol/Quote number, Activity Type, an assignment filter and a keyword. Changes take effect when Apply is selected.
  • The assignment filter offers My Activities, Unassigned Activities, Others' Activities, Role Activities and Role Group Activities. It opens on My Activities.
  • Activity Type offers Policy, Stakeholder, Claims, Portal and Finance. Each row in the list shows the type it carries.
  • An activity raised in the Policy module carries the type Policy. One raised elsewhere carries the type of the area it came from, so it is not returned while the list is filtered to Policy.
  • Clear resets every filter, including the assignment filter, which returns to My Activities.

Steps

  1. Open Activities.
  2. Set the assignment filter to the one that fits, for example Unassigned Activities rather than My Activities.
  3. Set Activity Type to the area the activity came from, or clear it to return every type.
  4. Select Apply.
  5. Where the activity is still not listed, open the customer file and use the Activities tab there.

The Customer File Activities Tab

The Activities tab of the customer file lists the activities held against that customer, whoever they are assigned to.

Filter What it does
Code Limits the list to one activity code.
Status Open, Closed Successful or Closed Unsuccessful. It opens on Open, so a closed activity is not shown until this is changed.
Pol/Quote # Limits the list to activities attached to one policy or quote.
Filter by keyword Matches on the activity text.

Notes and Edge Cases

  • The most common reason an activity appears to be missing is the assignment filter. An unassigned activity is not returned while the list is set to My Activities.
  • The customer file's Activities tab carries no activity type or assignment filter, so it shows the activities the main list leaves out.
  • It does open on a Status of Open, so a closed activity has to be found by changing that filter.

Status

Available.
