Overview

Notes entered within activities behave differently depending on whether they are created in Gateway or Policy. Understanding where notes are visible helps avoid missed information and confusion during quoting, underwriting, and policy servicing.

Current Behaviour

  • Notes added within an activity are always visible when the activity itself is opened.

  • Notes do not automatically appear in the Notes tab across modules.

Gateway vs Policy Visibility

Gateway activity notes

  • Visible when opening the activity in Gateway

  • Not visible in the Policy Notes tab

Policy activity notes

  • Visible when opening the activity in Policy

  • Not visible in the Gateway Notes tab

Why This Happens

  • Gateway and Policy notes are stored separately.
  • Gateway relies on broker code filtering, which requires activities to be attached to a policy or quote.

  • Notes not linked in a way that supports broker code determination cannot be surfaced across modules.

  • There is no shared Notes view implemented today.

Best Practices

  • Always open the related activity to review full context and notes.

  • Attach activities to the appropriate policy or quote whenever possible.

  • Use activity descriptions clearly to signal that additional notes exist within the activity.

Future Enhancements

Improving cross-module note visibility has been identified as a future change request. Updates will be communicated if this behaviour changes.
